Job Summary

This position is meant to address the production shortfall within manufacturing departments by creating WIP (kanban inventory) in processes which are a bottleneck within the department. The Weekend Operator is expected to work independently and reach critical production targets while working with minimal supervision. In this position the routine operations performed by a Weekend Manufacturing Operator can be the same as Utility I or 2. The associate may set up, operate, maintain and execute basic repairs on production equipment. While the actual operation of the workstations can be routine, exceptional focus on reaching production goals, troubleshooting ability and mechanical aptitude are key requirements given the reduced supervisory and technical support over the weekend.

This position will work three twelve hour shifts, Fri/Sat/Sun and be paid 40 hours. First shift hours are (6a-6:30p) Third shift hours (6p – 6:30a). Third shift hours are eligible for third shift differential.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Follow requirements of SOPs.

  • Routine duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Cutting & Washing

  • Rodding/DeRodding

  • Various Sheath Tip operations such as, Forming & Inspection, Finishing, Wiping

  • Dilator Tip Forming

  • Silicon Application

  • Hand Assembly

  • Inflate/Deflate (leak testing)

  • RF Welding (PVC welding)

  • Tube or Valve Bonding (gluing)

  • Curvature Insertion

  • Machine set up and changeover to meet production requirements.

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Maintain accurate production records and accurately follow production schedule.

  • Maintain a clear and organized work area.

  • Maintain adequate raw material supply as required.

  • Associate is responsible to follow requirements of TMC Quality System; including but not limited to: process controls, inspection procedures, document/data control, change control practices.

  • Perform maintenance/troubleshooting/repairs on production equipment.

  • Participate in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods or processes for unit/company performance improvement.

  • Performs other job-related duties assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires gowning procedures for controlled environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Strong reasoning and prioritization ability

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to analyze problems logically and discover the root cause and remedy to machine performance issues

  • Ability to work with hand tools and perform mechanical adjustments and repairs and minor electrical duties where knowledge of the task can be learned on the job.

  • Ability to stand sit, walk, bend lift, twist etc.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working independently

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Very good attendance record
